So on a whim, these brave and crazy people decided to use BFI (Brute Force and Ignorance) to thrash Sartharion in under 2 minutes with 3 drakes up. Kudos to Reggon, Titanmaster, Shargle, Soy, Taisaku, Xinshy, Pscilya, Vectra, Kreger and Grumpf (from Pandas for the bloodlust)

Grats (and damn you!) to Pscilya for getting the Reins of the Black Drake

We burned the instance at a whopping 40K/sec DPS. Everything was destroyed in our wake, including the picture (actually we just forgot to take one), and everything was sharded.

I recommend everyone else try it! It may be old content but it was a lot of fun.

What was the winning technique? Just unload full frontal assault before anything else spawned to kill you?

bewsh, you have about 1 mins 20 secs to kill him, and at about 1 min 15 seconds the tank (me) died every single time due to a ton of tiny damage and 2 drakes smacking my face at the same time. so after me dying the dps needed to put out about 300k more damage or so before everyone died.

and how well does that work when he breathes a big glob of flame on you?

Instead of attacking Sarth from the front, we went from the southwest side. That way you don't lose time running to him.

One of the big tricks is the direction of the waves. If it comes for the north, you are golden. If it comes from the south, you have to move under Sarth. There is a small spot on the far west/southwest right beside the lava. The flame wave (if from the north) will not hit the dpsers.

Another trick was we had Kreger Misdirect Tenebron onto shargle as soon as he came down. Otherwise he rampages in the raid. Shargle is right, at 1:14 or so there was a crucial point where he had to get aggro on the drakes and keep it on sarth AND the second flame wave is occuring right at that point. It was tough on shargle! Cause if he had to move then it was pure chaos. Sometimes Sarth would just turn to the raid and breathe on us, then SPLAT we were dead.

Titan had a good idea tho. When the second wave came, he told all Melee to follow him to Sarth's front left foot. That way it split the dps groups in two, so no one-shots of the whole raid.

From a mage point of view, we had to dump our aggro somehow. We had issues with the fire elementals, cause they kept coming to us and chipping away. On the winning try, Reggon went invis for a second, and I used my mirror images to distract them. It worked. I do recommend having a class in there with some form of pet that can distract those fire elemental ads. Cause if those get to your MT, then the extra damage then SPLAT.

Group composition had 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 shammy and 7 dps. Soy was wicked on the heals. And Titan's evasion tanking was perfect at the end.

And ya, we were at 48-49K/sec dps, but Shargle brought the raid down with his 2K dps! I mean geeeez, he just stood there and got hit. Do better next time dammit! /cackle Naw Shargle did a great job.
